Assets, Props, Textures and Materials created for Dvaar
Theas are the few assets created for the Dvaar project. Programs used are Maya for the base shape, Zbrush for the sculpt, creating trims, Baking in Marmoset Toolbag, and Texture painting in Substance Painter 3D.
All the textures include all total 3 maps, and a material function for the moss, and also to for the moss displacement.
For the foliage Its was not the same but added a simple tint just in case if I want to tweak the value, similar for the subsurface also, and there is a simple material function for the wind. Similar treatment was also done for the the Ivy's.
The props was treated in a different way as it was a kind of a secondary object in the scene, which will be lying around for the story, so the base was created in maya and the I created a trim in Zbrush, and used its in the 2 UV set channel of the props.
Decals are so powerful that you can do so much with Decals, it takes little bit time to place them but you get a lot of details without doing much.
Landscape Textures, probably the most important and the very first thing we create. There were 4 category of textures like Green Grass, Ground with stones, Mud, Rock. And in these categories 1 have 1 or 2 textures. What will blend with what its gets very critical and the textures never looked good if you just plugin and start painting, you have to tweak it and add that extra amount of details that needed just to make it look it belongs from one environment.
Fog is also an important part of the environment where its adds the mood and the feel that I wanted to have. Without getting into to much compilated materials it was create with simple noise with little bit of movement in it.
Water was a simple card with material function, I know I would use the new unreal water system which is much more dynamic, but I still wanted to do it the old way just to learn and also for optimization purpose.
Settings done in the instance.
I will definitely do a detail post for the materials and its approach and keep updating things as I learn more.
